About | Bonjour Bride

Hello! I’m Sarah, it’s lovely to ‘meet’ you!

For a long time I have wanted to create a space on the Internet that would celebrate contemporary weddings of all kinds. While I wasn’t one of those little girls that dreamt of her wedding day – no pillow case veils or toilet paper dresses for me, I remember looking at wedding dresses online sometime in 2010 (for no particular reason whatsoever, I’d never even had a boyfriend!) and an addiction was born! I started a blog in 2014 but I was in the middle of planning my own weddings and looking for a new 9-5, so my blogging dreams were put on hold for a while… well until now!

During the 18 months it took to plan our big fat Hindu wedding and classic civil ceremony I poured over wedding blogs. I adored (and still love) looking at real weddings, however, I was planning a multi-faith, fusion wedding and felt I had to search a little further and wider for the inspiration I was looking for. I wanted traditional without the cookie-cutter, classy without being obvious and pretty without the girlyness and that’s what I want to bring together on Bonjour Bride.

I studied Fine Art at University so creating beautiful things and being creative is a passion, and then went on to study events management, so when it came to planning a wedding I was in heaven! Now, that our big days are past (*sob*) armed with a fair bit of knowledge and an obsession for weddings that is as strong as the day I got my own rock, I want to inspire Brides to be.

If you’d like to take a look at my own wedding days (we had four in total) you can take a look here and here.

I want to help and share information with those of you planning weddings (and create pages full of eye candy for those of us who don’t want to let the dream go!) and once you have tied the knot I would love to feature your beautiful day (or days). Please get in touch with me at sarah@bonjourbride.com if you want a chat, find out more or send me pictures of your beautiful wedding because ultimately it’s you, the readers that make the blog worth reading!
