Today’s wedding, a traditional Hindu Indian wedding, is an absolute beauty. It’s full of colour and opulence, infused with the style of the modern New York based couple who planned it. Divya and Dhanny met, live and work in Manhattan, but are both from Hindu backgrounds and decided they wanted a big fat Hindu wedding celebration. Their wedding took place in India, where Divya hails from, and really where better to host a traditional Hindu wedding?
Their celebrations took place across several days, which included all the traditional ceremonies such as a Mehndi (you can read about mine here), a Sangeet, Saffron ceremony and of the course the big day itself. The whole thing looks absolutely amazing – it’s jam-packed with smiles, fun and colour! Divya rocks her silk blue evening gown, just as well as a traditional silk sari’s, and her exquisite jewellery and incredible mehndi look fantastic… And look at the dressed up horse! I could go on but you should just take a look, and make sure you scroll all the way down and watch the stop motion video, it shouldn’t be missed.

Stop motion video
Studio Noir put together this incredible stop motion video for the couple. It documents their entire four day celebration and I love the movement and little moments it captures. It has a totally different feel to the photographs, and I’m sure it’ll be something the couple will watch time and time again to relive their beautiful wedding.
Videography should be something every bride and groom considers for their wedding. I know sometimes it seems like such a big expense but maybe after seeing this you’ll change your mind?
Thanks again to Divya and Dhanny and Studio Noir for sharing all the beautiful images and video with us. Even as a Hindu it still amazes me how Hindu weddings can be so different, each incorporating unique traditions and customs.
Hope you loved looking at these images as much as I did and that you’re all having a great week so far,
