It’s 2017!! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New year so far has been great. I’m still trying to catch up on life stuff, so for now, we’ll jump straight back into wedding pretty. When I look back to when we were planning there were so many times that I wished we had kept the celebration small. Anyone else?! If you’re looking for classic intimate wedding inspiration this wedding is especially for you to enjoy. If not, then you will surely adore all the exquisite details Sukran and Ade packed into their day. I’m in awe that they managed to plan their wedding in just two months(!). And if anything, this wedding proves that small is just as, if not more beautiful than big and lavish.

Sukran and Ade married in a civil ceremony surrounded by a handful of family and friends on April 30th, 2016. They then went on to celebrate and dance the night away at a luxurious reception at the beautiful Lanesborough Hotel in Knightsbridge. I adore the details in this wedding – the pastel flowers, Sukran’s incredible lace gown and Ade’s fabulous shoes. It’s so chic and there is so much love in these images.

First Blogiversary | Bonjour Bride

Hello! It’s been pretty hectic at Bonjour HQ lately {all will be revealed soon!} and it dawned on me that last week was Bonjour Bride’s first blogiversary! It’s flown by and I’m sad that it went uncelebrated, but here I am, marking the occasion today.

I dabbled with the idea of starting a blog for ages, and now, given how incredible the last year has been, it seems so silly that I ummed and ahhed for so long! There are so many wonderful wedding blogs that I still love reading every week, but creating my little corner of the internet was always the dream. And while it was still is daunting, it’s an honour sharing beautiful weddings and spreading the word of wonderful suppliers. Plus it’s like ‘they’ say – you’ve got to start somewhere.

I’d love to spend all my days working on the blog, but for now this is my hobby. Monday to Friday, 9-5, I’m an Event Manager and commute into London everyday. And it’s not always easy fitting blogging into daily life. There are times when spending my evening in front of the computer is the last thing I want to do. But I love this so much. I get such a buzz when someone leaves a comment on a post, photographers contact me to feature their work and couples thank me for sharing their special day. I literally do a little dance every time it happens, so please keep them coming!

Being nominated and actually winning the Best Multicultural Wedding Blog Award was the icing on the 2016 Bonjour Bride cake! I was and am still a little in shock! You may have noticed the snazzy new badge on your right. It was completely unexpected and I can’t thank you enough for taking the time to vote for me.

I have so many plans for Bonjour Bride, and hope you’ll stick around for all the highs and lows! As always it”ll be a space to share beautiful celebrations, but there’s so much more to come. I’d love to know what you’ve liked over the last year and what you’d like to see more. You can comment below or message me on Instagram {@bonjourbride} if you’d prefer.

So, thank you for reading so far, and here’s to another great year.

If you’re looking for modern wedding inspiration, full of clean lines, fresh colours and pretty things you’re in for a treat. It was by chance that I met Wilma Event Styling at a wedding fair a year ago now. Their stall immediately caught my eye, covered in paper flowers and tables scattered with elegant trinkets. Once I got chatting to Susi and Jane, I knew I wanted to find a way of collaborating with Wilma. And here it is – the first, of hopefully many inspiration boards.

You may recognise Susi, as she shared her wonderful wedding with us a few months ago – which you can see here, and this wedding was styled by the Wilma ladies. I love all the details and colours in these images they’ve chosen. Take a minute and let me know which is your favourite…Clean Lines Fresh Colours Wedding Inspiration - Wilma Event Styling

While embracing Winter and looking ahead to Spring, we’ve created an inspirational mood board to showcase a simple, fresh take on clean lines with a hint of nostalgia. At Wilma we work with modern elements – whether it’s bold graphics, geometric shapes or a unique way to style a seating chart. We love making references to the past and think that it’s so important to try and keep this light. Within our look here, we’ve curated some pieces that have a timeless elegance but also feel contemporary.

We chose a crisp set of wedding stationery from Shine Wedding Invitations. The mixture of classic and modern fonts looks great, and keeps the pieces from being anything but ordinary.

The beautiful wooden table, bentwood chair and blue/grey runner add a grown up feel and relaxed quality. We are currently obsessed with collections of different height candlesticks and lanterns. It’s a clever way to take away rigid formality and avoid getting overwhelmed with lots of different items and props.

Soft whites and grey hues provides a neutral backdrop to which you can add pops of colour and metallic highlights. In our palette, we have light mint, blush/coral tones, antique gold and black. The blue undertones seen in some of the grey details, bring about a fresh and contemporary feeling.

Make a statement

To take your styling to the next level add an unexpected or unique item to create a statement. Here our aspirational pieces are beautiful antique Chinese lanterns, their colours and fabric are light, airy with such intricate details. A more cost effective choice could be paper lanterns with ribbons and haberdashery tassels.

We’ve also chosen a gorgeous portable Crosley record player. This not only looks fantastic but is a great way to add music to a drinks reception or dinner. Finally, for the fresh highlights we are loving proteas and eucalyptus, they both share a simple graphic style.

Ideal venue

This look could work well in so many venues. The essential element would be to aim for a space that isn’t too cluttered and allows your details to breathe. The space that we had in mind was the AALP Studio at Wiltons Music Hall. The newly refurbished intimate space has bare walls that gives you the opportunity to bring your own individual style. Wiltons Music Hall is one of our favourite venues in London. Not only is it stunning, but it has so much texture and is full of beautiful quirks.

We hope this has sparked your imagination!

A colourful London wedding with a Jenny Packham gown | Babb Photo | Bonjour Bride

Happy Monday lovelies! It may be cold outside but this super fun and colourful London wedding London is sure to warm your cockles! Dil and Anna tied the knot in a beautiful Church wedding and treated their guests to a day full of treats – including a walk along the Thames, a riverboat trip and the slap-up meal in one of the best restaurants in town. (I work round the corner from said restaurant, it really is worth a visit!)

Anna and Dil wanted to keep their day fun and relaxed and there’s absolutely no doubt that’s what it was. The incredible Babb photo captured the day expertly, and nothing but smiles and fun beam from the images. Anna looks so wonderful in her sparkly Jenny Packham tea-length dress and Dil is effortlessly stylish in his tweed suit. Every element of the day was brought together with a plethora of bright colour and wonderful details… I want a confetti filled tassel balloon asap!

Winter is well a truly upon us, so looking back, or forward to Beth and Carl’s summery rustic woodland wedding is my treat for you today.

This lovely pair were married in a wonderful outdoor ceremony on 8th August 2015. They wanted a day that reflected them and there is sooo much DIY inspiration for you to steal. Beth looks wonderful in her dress (and just wait till you see the price tag!) and if you needed any more reason to scroll down to ogle at the photos captured by Kelsie Low, this wedding not only included the cutest fairies but a magical unicorn. You’re welcome…
